Dare to live without fear, isn’t that what life is all about?
What can we learn from small kids?
Small kids don’t see danger; they just do and say whatever they like. They look at the world with an open mind, like I did in this picture about 50 years ago. No worry, struggle or fear to see in my face, just happiness and joy and living in the moment.
I am not saying that you as an adult need to be reckless and bring yourself or others into danger. The challenge is to take responsibility for yourself and others without fear taking over control. Dare to live in a responsible way, be happy and live your life at the fullest. Easy to say and harder to live, especially if you think about the nowadays health dilemma’s.
How growing up forms us as a person
Growing up, you learned to be careful in several ways. Falling down hurts so you became careful not to run to fast. You start noticing how to make your parents happy and learned to adapt your behavior. All fine so far, this comes together with growing up and learning to take responsibility for yourself and others.
My life lesson; come out of it stronger every time
Sometimes bad things happen, for example I was bullied a lot at school and fear took over my daily life for several years. I came out of it in the end, it made me stronger as a person. I am sure that I never want to go there again…I mean the fear controlling my life. Since then my believe is that all shit that happens to me can make me stronger as long as I do not let fear take over control again. This works for me so far.
Why do I tell you this?
Because thinking about “Why is it quite easy for me to keep living my life at the fullest these days, without taking over the fear that’s every were around me?” brought up this memory. I realize this story formed me into the person I am now. I live according to the current social distancing rules and use my creativity to keep living the life I love to live, still open minded and leaving every kind of fear far behind me as far as possible…because this is my life and it’s to short to let fear take over again.
What’s your story?
I am curious about your story. What formed you into who you are right now? It can be a har or a happy event. And how does this influence how you live your life right now? Think about it, share it with your loved ones and feel free to share it with me as well or show the guts to inspire others by sharing it in a comment on this blog.
